Great post. great analogy. I will be looking for ways to put this into practice tomorrow.

The below joke I am sure ended with a tactful, helpful, customer oriented reply. :)

Caller: "I deleted a file from my PC last week and I have just realised that I need it. If I turn my system clock back two weeks, will I have my file back again?"

Karalyn,

Thanks for your thoughts on this post. Customer Service - why don't more entrepreneurs and small business owners realize how powerful that is to the growth of their business. I would much prefer having 98% of my business growth coming from referrals than to have paid for 98% of my business growth through advertising and marketing! People want to be treated as special and they want to be appreciated. A simple "thank you" or even "how can I help you today" goes a long, long way!

Please do stop back and post again! I love your comments.

Happy Netweaving,
Carol

Loved this article as I've always been a proponent of great customer service. Nothing turns me off faster than ambivalent behavior --- so often we see it in today's market place. I believe each customer should be treated like a guest in our home and if you treat folks that way, they will feel special and will appreciate what you offer them. Word of mouth advertising is still the best advertising available. That doesn't mean it's cheap --- sometimes it's more work than paying for an ad. But my best clients always come via referrals from other clients.

Hi Donna,

Thanks for your comment. I am thrilled to have been asked to participate in your blog tour, it's the first one I've ever done, and I certainly am sending you best wishes on this endeavor. Your book has so much great information, I'm afraid that every line on every page will be highlighted! Thanks for sharing this knowledge with all of us.

Happy Netweaving,
